[cpx] VSAP Parse error:

I just ordered a new VPS3, and generally when I use CPX to do 
something complex, I get the error

I try and add a domain admin, go through all the screens, and when I 
click "Save" after awhile (probably a minute), I get

An error occurred. Please contact support.
VSAP Parse error: [Could not parse the VSAP Response: Empty String at 
/usr/local/cp/lib/ControlPanel/MetaProc.pm line 186 ]

This keeps happening... This is on a VPS3 with virtually no load... 
nearly virgin out of the box. Had CPX preinstalled...

"simple" is add user then add domain and associate with user. (generally works)
"complex" add domain admin, which of course does both of the above... 
(and fails)

Any suggestions?
