AW: AW: [cpx] sendmail.cf

Hello Uwe,

thanks for answering.

sorry not to give you all the details.

when we click on /etc/mail/sendmail.cf we cannot open the file and get an
error message instead saying:

An error occurred. Please contact support.
VSAP Parse error: [Could not parse the VSAP Response: Empty String at
/usr/local/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.4/ControlPanel/MetaProc.pm line 182 ]

This happens also with some other files in the same directory.

Also looking into maillog we get an information saying:

Aug 14 01:55:26 mail sendmail[84689]: /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: WARNING:
dangerous write permissions

Indead the file-permissions of sendmail.cf are set to:

-r--rw-r-- root www

instead of

-r--r--r-- root wheel

what the should be from the default.

we have never changed the permissions.

So now, when I setup the permissions with secureCRT to the default value
of -r--r--r-- root wheel ,

I find after next login the permissions set back to the wrong value
of -r--rw-r-- root www like before.

This is the state for the moment.

We have sent the issue to viaVerio, but didn't get an answer so far.

regards

Mike Roland

BTW. there seems to be something completely puzzled with the CPX,
should I do a new installation? Is this possible over an existing account?
